Both artists have backgrounds in traditional Japanese calligraphy but approach their work in very different ways.– Reiko Tsunashima uses simple materials and techniques, eliminating as much intentionality as possible. She creates works of remarkable purity by stripping away excess. Her pieces emphasize the inherent beauty of ink itself, emerging as an oasis of calm in a world often overwhelmed by materialism.– Yoko Emi, on the other hand, experiments boldly with innovative materials and techniques to push the boundaries of traditional calligraphy. She redefines contemporary ink expression by integrating experimental materials and techniques, such as transparent resin calligraphy, offering viewers something entirely new.Though their approaches are fundamentally different, the essence of their works resonates with a profound harmony. We hope you will enjoy experiencing the unique creations of these two artists.
